About us and more...

Comm Care is a family owned business and is an approved government provider of aged care in the home and community.   We provide boutique home care and support delivered through the government subsidised home care package or private independent care.  Packages are delivered by our trained staff committed to delivering an individually tailored care program from basic to high level care needs and includes a wide range of personal, specialised, transport, respite and household tasks as well as an ongoing review of care.   The level of support you can expect to receive is determined by the level of package that you have been deemed eligible for.  It is Comm Care's mission to keep you as independent as possible, whilst ensuring that you are involved in any decision making and above all treated with the dignity and respect you deserve.

With over 40 years expertise in financial and business management, Bill O'Shea the Director and company Secretary for CommCare, also comes with over 15 years experience supporting aged care businesses in financial management and regulatory compliance. Driven by a desire to help in the community, he is dedicated  to ensuring the highest standard of quality in management systems whilst upholding and maintaining full compliance with the Home Care Common Standards.

Susan Longhorn, has spent most of her professional life in the Commonwealth  Government and Corporate sectors in both private and public company roles.  This has given her a broad business understanding, primarily in the international trade, human resources, occupational health and safety and work safe fields.  Sue spent the first 12 years of her working life as a member of the Australian Army, her military background has held her in good stead, by utilising her unique strengths, intrinsic understanding and comprehensive communication skills.   Sue has sat on the Apprentice of the year board, was elected president of Wollongong Lioness Club, has represented both NSW and Qld in state hockey, and has volunteered her services as Manager and senior first aid attendant to the SA and Vic Rugby Union community.   Sue’s passion for working in the aged care sector centres upon a profound need to make a tremendous difference to elderly persons quality of life in her community.  Sue believes in a hand’s on approach and still gets out of the office and works and visits directly with our clients.  Is just an amazing lady...

Who we are...

Comm Care is a government approved provider and consists of a team of qualified community carers that are dedicated to providing boutique aged care support in your home, whether it's personal care, domestic duties, transport, assistance with medication, a helping hand with meals, shopping, companionship, in-home respite or case management - we can tailor your care requirements to meet your needs.  Our personal carers have a minimum Cert III in aged/community care or equivalent and have current police checks.

Our Carers 

Have peace of mind knowing that your care team are:

  • A team of competent and compassionate carers.  Comm Care staff undergo a careful selection process based on their attitude, skills and knowledge.

  • A team of professionals that provide 24/7 Support from Comm Care Home and Community Care's personal care assistants, registered nurses and management team.

  • Hold nationally recognised qualifications in Aged Care.

  • Hold current First-aid certificates 

  • Hold CPR certificates

  • Have current police checks

  • Hold comprehensive vehicle insurance and unrestricted driving licences 

 

Our Staff are required to attend mandatory training and professional development sessions.  They are held in-house by our Registered Training Organisation Comm Care Pty Ltd or by a qualified training organisation. We ensure that carers are up-to-date with clinical knowledge and best practice outcomes.
